TRIESTE – Ocean Network Express (ONE) has decided to reorganise its container shipping service Adriatic Service 1 (AD1), reducing the number of ports and concentrating the rotation on the main ports of the Adriatic and the eastern Mediterranean.

The change will take effect with the voyage of the vessel Mito 065E, expected to arrive in Koper on 2 July 2026. From that date, the service will connect the ports of Koper, Venice, Ancona and Damietta, in Egypt, before returning again to Koper.

The previous rotation also included calls at Aliaga, in Turkey, and Piraeus, in Greece: Koper, Venice, Ancona, Aliaga, Piraeus, Damietta and back to Koper. According to the Singapore-based shipping company, the service revision was designed to improve schedule reliability and reduce transit times. Reducing the number of calls should in fact allow more efficient management of operations and limit the risk of delays accumulating along the route.

Adriatic Service 1, operated by ONE in cooperation with Turkish company Admiral Container Lines, is one of the services dedicated to intra-European traffic between the Adriatic and the eastern Mediterranean. With the new configuration, the service will adopt a leaner structure while maintaining weekly coverage between the Northern Adriatic ports and the Egyptian terminal of Damietta.
