TRIESTE – Itelyum has taken another step in expanding its port environmental services business by acquiring the remaining minority stakes in Itelyum Sea, Secomar and Ambiente Mare. The transaction gives the Group full ownership of the three companies, completing the integration process launched in recent years and strengthening its presence across the main Adriatic ports.

The consolidation primarily involves the ports of Trieste, Monfalcone, San Giorgio di Nogaro and Ravenna, as well as Taranto. Across these ports, the Group provides specialised services for the management of ship-generated waste, the collection and treatment of industrial liquid waste, emergency response operations and environmental remediation, contributing to the protection of the marine environment and the sustainable operation of port infrastructure.

«With the completion of these acquisitions, we are strengthening a strategic platform for the Group and consolidating our position in highly specialised environmental services,» said Itelyum CEO Marco Codognola. «The integration of maritime and port activities will allow us to further develop expertise, synergies and industrial capabilities in support of the circular economy and the sustainability of Italy’s port infrastructure.»

Secomar CEO Manlio Cirilli also commented on the continuity of the company’s industrial development: «My leadership of Secomar will continue in full continuity with the past, maintaining a strong focus on technological and operational innovation in marine pollution response and port services. Together with Itelyum, we will continue working closely with our local partners, strengthening our national leadership in the sector, also through collaboration with the Group’s other companies.»
