TRIESTE – Trieste Terminal Passeggeri is bringing Norwegian Cruise Line back to Trieste. The cruise company has confirmed 11 calls by the Norwegian Gem for the 2026 season, with an estimated movement of around 25,000 transit passengers.
The announcement follows talks between the company and Trieste Terminal Passeggeri and marks an important return for the Friuli Venezia Giulia port in the international cruise market.
«The return of Norwegian Cruise Line is an important result for Trieste and confirms the work TTP is carrying out to consolidate our port’s presence in the main international cruise circuits», said Marco Consalvo, president of the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port Authority and newly appointed president of Trieste Terminal Passeggeri.

The cruise season will also see a symbolic moment on 17 May, with the arrival in Trieste of TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 4. The ship will call at the Maritime Station after weeks marked by international tensions in the Persian Gulf area and by its passage through the Strait of Hormuz, in a phase of strong instability linked to the confrontation between the United States and Iran, which has also had repercussions on international maritime traffic.
For the occasion, Trieste Terminal Passeggeri and the port of Trieste are preparing a special welcome for the ship and its crew.
