TRIESTE – As of 1 January 2026, Contargo has acquired a 50% stake in Cargo-Center-Graz Logistik GmbH (CCGL).
The deal strengthens Contargo’s presence on the Adriatic corridor and consolidates Graz’s role as a central logistics platform between Northern and Southern Europe. CCGL operates within the Graz cargo terminal and organises block trains between the Styrian capital and the ports of the Northern Adriatic, in addition to road transport activities. The centre also handles operational planning and dispatching for the services.
Regular rail connections are currently active on the Koper–Bilk–Enns–Koper route with one weekly round trip, Koper–Graz–Koper with four weekly round trips set to increase to six during 2026, and Graz–Enns–Graz with two weekly round trips. The focus is on a sustainable link between German industry, the Austrian market, Adriatic ports and the South-East European economic area. In addition to containers, the transport of trailers along the same corridor is also planned. During 2026, a direct rail connection is planned to link the Graz hub to the Contargo network, initially in the Frankfurt-Wörth area. This will allow customers to access stable, direct rail links to Adriatic ports and South-Eastern European markets. The cooperation is designed with long-term growth in mind and foresees, as a first step, extending services to other Adriatic ports.
