TRIESTE – The new Ro-Ro Midline Shipping service linking Italy (via the port of Chioggia), Turkey, and Libya has officially launched.
After completing loading operations in Haydarpaşa (Istanbul), the vessel *MIMER* will call at Izmir before unloading its first cargo in Benghazi. The official departure from Chioggia (Venice) is scheduled for May 23, connecting Italy with Misurata and Benghazi.
The service, managed by Agencies S.r.l. Shipping Agents & Brokers, operates from the Sorima quay, part of FHP Holding Portuale.
The rotation also includes Izmir, Alexandria (Egypt), and Mersin. Cargo types include trucks, excavators, cars, heavy machinery, general cargo (pallets, crates, boxes), project cargo, and containers (20’–40′).
This new line complements the existing service to Tripoli, also operated by Agencies, which calls at Chioggia every 20 days and also serves Spain. The Benghazi route uses a more versatile vessel, suitable for breakbulk cargo, and maintains the same 20-day frequency, ensuring regular service to Libya.
A second vessel may be added in the coming months if traffic volume justifies it. Meanwhile, Brindisi has been added to the rotation.
