The new <strong>40 million euro<\/strong> investment is situated in the western part of the country, near <strong>Austria, Slovenia and Croatia<\/strong>. It is on routes to the Adriatic ports of <strong>Trieste, Koper and Rijeka<\/strong>, strategically situated to meet the growing demand of transloading and distribution of containers arriving at<strong> North Adriatic ports<\/strong>.<br \/>\nRegular train connections will be provided to the rest of Europe, mainly serving the south and south-eastern Europe and the Adriatic corridor.<br \/>\nThe first section of the facility shall go into operation during the year 2023.<br \/>\nAccording to experts, the Adriatic corridor will become a priority trade route, and Zalaegerszeg will play a key role in this, Metrans had explained in a note.<br \/>\nThe terminal area<a href=\"https:\/\/metrans.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/METRANS-Zalaegerszeg-animacio-05-angol.mp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> will be around 150.000 square metres, and Zalaegerszeg hub<\/a> will have daily rail connections to Hamburg, Bremerhaven and the whole Metrans network.<br \/>\nThe owner of Metrans is Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA). This leading European logistics company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/trieste-logistics-platform-a-31-year-concession-to-hhla-plt-italy\/\">has recently obtained a concession for the Piattaforma Logistica Trieste<\/a>, its subsidiary in the Port of Trieste. The concession has a duration of 31 years (until 2052) and covers a total area of approximately 120.000 square metres.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRIESTE &#8211; Construction
