The move was necessary to respond to the strong demand for logistics services from its local customers. In order to make cross-docking, loading and unloading operations more accessible and faster, 30 hydraulic gates have been installed in the warehouse.<br \/>&#8220;The plant was built with the latest technology <strong>to minimize environmental impacts<\/strong>, such as LED lighting with home automation, photovoltaic systems for the production of electricity consumed and waterproofing suitable for energy saving,&#8221; the company said.<br \/>With the move of the Udine office, Fercam will be able to optimize its daily direct connections from the reference area to the major national and European economic centres. &#8220;These regions are of great economic interest not only for the liveliness and the strong viticultural and productive vocation of the Friulian and Venetian companies, but also for the need of logistic services with high added value,&#8221; explains Fercam.<br \/>Fercam is investing in a green renewal strategy of its fleet, paying attention to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of its activities. The <strong><em>Emission-free delivery<\/em><\/strong> pilot project (distribution of goods without releasing any pollutant produced by endothermic engines) has been launched in the Rome branch. Following the first test, it will be extended to all the company&#8217;s national branches, including the new Udine plant. <br \/>As the first step of the project, the company has started a collaboration with the CNR Itae (Institute of Advanced Energy Technologies), to develop new types of powertrain for its trucks and vans, using biomethane and hydrogen coupled with electricity, to identify the type of <em><strong>free emission<\/strong><\/em> vehicle best suited to the distribution of goods within cities.<br \/>The project will be presented from 1st to 3rd October at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rom-e.it\/#homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rom-E<\/a>, an event dedicated to the theme of eco-sustainability, new energy sources and the future of smart mobility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRIESTE &#8211;
