Speed control systems are a highly relevant topic, and as VPC, we are grateful to the City for involving us, given the specific expertise we can bring to the table,\u201d said <strong>VPC President Davide Calderan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are three key areas we intend to focus on. <strong>Support for speed control in the Giudecca Canal and other Lagoon channels<\/strong>, aiming to improve navigation safety and reduce the impact of wave motion on the city\u2019s infrastructure and natural heritage. From a conservation perspective, it is necessary to <strong>reconsider the current MOSE activation threshold of 110 centimeters rather than 85 centimeters<\/strong>. This \u2013 Calderan added \u2013 would allow for a better balance in the operations of the regulated port, with positive effects for both the city and the port\u2019s economic community. Finally, there is the issue of <strong>maintenance and upkeep of the lagoon\u2019s canals, including the Vittorio Emanuele canal<\/strong>.
