TRIESTE \u2013 The SIAD Group has selected the industrial port of Marghera (Venice) for the construction of its new production plant dedicated to large-scale Air Separation Units (ASUs), destined for international markets. The plant, currently under construction, is expected to be completed in 2026 and represents a \u20ac50 million investment by SIAD Macchine Impianti, the company leading the Group\u2019s engineering division.<\/p>\n
The new production site will be located within the port area of Marghera and will feature a quay with direct access to the sea \u2014 a key element that will allow the direct loading of large-scale units onto ships, significantly reducing both the costs and complexity of land-based logistics. This solution will help cut road congestion, environmental impact and transport times, as emphasized by Fulvio Lino Di Blasio, President of the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe establishment of SIAD in Porto Marghera,\u201d Di Blasio stated, \u201creinforces the role of the Port of Venice as a national hub for project cargo \u2014 a sector that already relies on maritime transport for over 90% of its volume. The ability to manufacture large components on-site and load them directly onto vessels represents a clear competitive advantage for the port and industrial system.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new facility will be dedicated to the production of ASU plants for generating oxygen, nitrogen, and argon<\/b><\/span> \u2014 strategic technologies for decarbonisation and the hydrogen economy<\/b><\/span>. Each unit will be capable of handling 12 tonnes of materials, supporting advanced industrial processes and sustainable production. The investment complements ongoing developments in Bergamo, where SIAD maintains its historic technical and operational headquarters.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a strategic decision,\u201d said Bernardo Sestini, President and CEO of the SIAD Group, \u201caimed at boosting logistics efficiency and supporting the energy transition.
