This is certainly good news for the entire port community.\u201d<br \/>\nWith these words, the president of the Venice Port Community (Vpc), <strong>Davide Calderan<\/strong>, commented on the ruling that allows the <strong>continuation of the research and planning process promoted by the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Calderan, the offshore port represents \u00ab<strong>a turning point for the economy linked to port activities<\/strong>,\u00bb capable of offering Venice \u00aba concrete alternative to the city\u2019s tourism monoculture\u00bb and opening up new possibilities for trade with the rest of Europe.<br \/>\nThe Vpc president also noted that \u00abonly by combining long-term vision with immediate actions already under way \u2014 such as the Isola delle Tresse 2 project, maintenance of the Malamocco\u2013Marghera channel, the Canale Nord passenger terminal and upgrades to the Vittorio Emanuele \u2014 can continuity and substance be ensured for future investments\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>According to Calderan, this strategy will help keep Venice \u201c<strong>a jewel of Italian port logistics<\/strong>\u201d and safeguard the city\u2019s historic role as a gateway for global exchange.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRIESTE \u2013 \u201cWe have learned of the Tar\u2019s decision to reject the appeal against the ideas competition launched by the Venice Port Authority for the offshore port.
