{"id":35536,"date":"2025-10-12T10:01:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T08:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/uncategorized\/barcolana-57-2000-boats-for-the-worlds-largest-regatta\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T10:34:49","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T09:34:49","slug":"barcolana-57-2000-boats-for-the-worlds-largest-regatta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/yachting-en\/barcolana-57-2000-boats-for-the-worlds-largest-regatta\/","title":{"rendered":"Barcolana 57, 2,000 boats for the world\u2019s largest regatta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">TRIESTE \u2013<\/span> The Gulf of Trieste is getting ready to welcome tomorrow the <strong><span class=\"s1\">2,000 boats<\/span><\/strong> entered in the <strong><span class=\"s1\">57th edition of the Barcolana<\/span><\/strong>, the world\u2019s most crowded regatta, scheduled to start at <span class=\"s1\"><b>10:30 a.m.<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Once again this year, the event brings together a diverse fleet made up of professional crews, amateurs and families from all over Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Yesterday afternoon, last year\u2019s winners, <strong><span class=\"s1\">Furio Benussi<\/span> and <span class=\"s1\">Giulia Leghissa<\/span>, returned the <span class=\"s1\">Coppa d\u2019Autunno<\/span> and the <span class=\"s1\">Generali Trophy<\/span> to <span class=\"s1\">Mitja Gialuz<\/span><\/strong>, president of SVBG, and to <strong><span class=\"s1\">Emma Ursich<\/span>, head of Corporate Identity at the Generali Group<\/strong>, putting them back up for grabs in the 2025 edition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">During the event, it was announced that <strong>in <span class=\"s1\">2026<\/span> the regatta <span class=\"s1\">Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Il Veloce<\/span>,<\/strong> organized by <span class=\"s1\">Difesa Servizi<\/span> in cooperation with the <span class=\"s1\">Italian Navy<\/span> and <span class=\"s1\">SSI Sport &amp; Events<\/span>, will conclude in Trieste, coinciding with the <span class=\"s1\">58th Barcolana<\/span>, after starting from Genoa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00abWe wanted to bring together two of Italy\u2019s most important events,\u00bb said Admiral <strong><span class=\"s1\">Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto<\/span><\/strong>, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy, \u00abto promote maritime culture and strengthen the country\u2019s image on the international stage\u00bb. \u00abThe arrival of the Nastro Rosa Veloce in Trieste in 2026 represents the synergy of two major events that work as a system to showcase Italy\u00bb, added <strong><span class=\"s1\">Luca Andreoli<\/span><\/strong>, CEO of Difesa Servizi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To mark the regatta, the <strong><span class=\"s1\">Trieste Harbour Master\u2019s Office<\/span><\/strong> <strong>opened the Coast Guard vessel <span class=\"s1\">Ubaldo Diciotti CP 941<\/span> to the public<\/strong>, which can be visited today from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Molo IV, with free admission. The ship is used for search and rescue, navigation safety and environmental protection operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Meanwhile, the <strong><span class=\"s1\">fifth edition of the Barcolana Sea Summit<\/span><\/strong> has concluded, dedicated to water conservation and the promotion of the <strong><span class=\"s1\">blue economy<\/span><\/strong>. The 2025 edition explored the topics of climate change, electrification and the digital transition in the energy sector, focusing on technical skills and safety in education and training contexts. \u00abDiscussing water protection through an integrated perspective is essential to educate new generations and foster dialogue between businesses and institutions\u00bb, said <strong><span class=\"s1\">Mitja Gialuz<\/span><\/strong>, president of SVBG.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, <strong><span class=\"s1\">Massimiliano Fedriga<\/span><\/strong>, reiterated \u00abthe importance of public-private cooperation for the sustainable development of the sea and for strengthening the blue economy in Friuli Venezia Giulia\u00bb.
