The Deputy Minister will also speak at the round table \u201cDry Ports and Logistics Zones in Italy\u201d, illustrating the Government\u2019s strategies to reinforce Italy\u2019s role as a Mediterranean logistics hub, thanks to the Italy 2032 plan, port digitalisation and the TEN-T corridors.<\/p>\n<p>The visit takes place <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/it\/logistica\/linea-damietta-trieste-inaugurazione-ufficiale\/\">one year after the launch of the Motorway of the Sea between Trieste and Damietta<\/a>, a connection that has strengthened trade between the two countries and represents a concrete basis for new synergies in the Euro-Mediterranean context. <strong>Italy aims to confirm its role as a strategic bridge between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, also in terms of logistics security and shared growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In recent days, in Cairo, the Italian special envoy for the Imec, Francesco Tal\u00f2<\/strong>, also reiterated Egypt\u2019s value as a central hub of the India\u2013Middle East\u2013Europe Corridor. According to Tal\u00f2, the North African country is a \u201cgateway to Africa and the Middle East\u201d, while Trieste represents the natural terminal towards Central Europe and the Baltic. <strong>Egypt, he added, shows strong interest in taking part in an open and inclusive infrastructure project capable of boosting flows of goods, energy and digital connectivity<\/strong>, in a framework that also looks to the Mattei Plan and the extension of the corridor towards the African continent. \u00abWe want the approach to the Corridor to be open and inclusive, and to create new opportunities in the transport of goods as well as in energy and digital sectors\u00bb, in which Egypt is increasingly asserting itself, Tal\u00f2
