{"id":36345,"date":"2025-12-02T22:45:36","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T21:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/uncategorized\/consalvo-appointed-to-lead-the-ports-of-trieste-and-monfalcone\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T12:41:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T11:41:28","slug":"consalvo-appointed-to-lead-the-ports-of-trieste-and-monfalcone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/consalvo-appointed-to-lead-the-ports-of-trieste-and-monfalcone\/","title":{"rendered":"Consalvo appointed to lead the ports of Trieste and Monfalcone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\"><strong>TRIESTE \u2013<\/strong> The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, has signed the <strong>appointment of Marco Consalvo as president of the Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea<\/strong>, which oversees the ports of Trieste and Monfalcone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\">\u201cWith this act,\u201d reads a statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, \u201cthe <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">MIT<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> confirms <strong>its intention to strengthen the governance of the national port system<\/strong>, ensuring stability, administrative continuity and effectiveness in implementing development strategies for the maritime terminals\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\">Born in Naples on 26 May 1967, Consalvo is an <strong>engineer with a degree in \u2018Environment and Territory\u2019 (La Sapienza University)<\/strong>. He has held several positions in the airport sector: General Director at Naples Airport (2006\u20132012) and, with the same role, at Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport from November 2015 until <strong>July 2019, when he became CEO.<\/strong> Consalvo is also a board member of Aeroporto FVG Spa (since May 2017), representing F2i (Italian Infrastructure Funds), an investment management company that invests in infrastructures and also controls one of the terminal operators at the Port of Monfalcone (FHP Group). In 2019, through its subsidiary 2i Aeroporti, F2i acquired 55% of Trieste Airport\u2019s shares, obtaining the right to appoint the <\/span><span class=\"cf0\">CEO<\/span><span class=\"cf0\">, while the president (currently Antonio Marano) is appointed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"cf0\">Politically speaking, these appointments were originally linked to the centre-left, but were later confirmed by the centre-right as a sign of appreciation for the management carried out at the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\">The governance of the Trieste and Monfalcone authority is still missing the appointment of the Secretary General, also awaited for the Port of Venice, where<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/venice-gasparato-the-port-is-the-only-alternative-to-the-tourism-monoculture\/\"> yesterday the newly appointed president Matteo <\/a><\/span><span class=\"cf0\">Gasparato<\/span><span class=\"cf0\"> presented the work programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\">\u00abCongratulations to Marco Consalvo on his appointment as president of the Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea. The signing of the decree by Minister Salvini concludes an important process and allows the new leadership to be installed, ensuring full continuity of administrative action. I am certain that, thanks to solid and consistent institutional cooperation, Trieste and Monfalcone\u00bb, writes in a statement the MP and <strong>Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Edoardo <\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"cf0\">Rixi<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"cf0\">, \u201cwill continue to grow, innovate and serve as a benchmark for the entire Adriatic and for the country\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"cf0\">\u00abI extend my sincere best wishes to Marco Consalvo for his work: the formalisation of his appointment returns to the Authority an authoritative and competent leadership, an essential condition for relaunching action with a strategic vision and planning perspective for the development of regional ports\u00bb.
