{"id":36845,"date":"2026-01-05T20:36:53","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T19:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/uncategorized\/port-of-trieste-seadock-reactivates-the-cement-terminal\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T18:24:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T17:24:17","slug":"port-of-trieste-seadock-reactivates-the-cement-terminal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/port-of-trieste-seadock-reactivates-the-cement-terminal\/","title":{"rendered":"Port of Trieste, Seadock reactivates the cement terminal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TRIESTE &#8211;<\/strong> The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/samer.com\/terminalisti-portuali\/terminal-carichi-eccezionali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">partnership between Seadock (Samer Group)<\/a> and the Medcem Group<\/strong> for a new cement traffic at the Port of Trieste is now operational, marked by the first vessel calling at the quay.<\/p>\n<p>The ship carrying bulk cement for one of the world\u2019s leading cement holdings, headquartered in Turkey with \u20ac450 million in revenues and 15,000 employees, is <strong>expected to arrive today in Trieste at the Seadock Bulk quay. It will stay until 8 January<\/strong> at Riva Giovanni da Verrazzano, along the Navigable Canal.<br \/>\nFollowing the recovery works carried out over the past year by the Italian company of the Medcem Group, set up ad hoc\u2014<strong>Novada Cement Italy Srl<\/strong>\u2014the cargo will be unloaded via <strong>an underground pipeline<\/strong> connected to the quay and stored in the nearby refurbished silos. These facilities had been unused for about ten years: an investment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/port-of-trieste-new-cement-traffic\/\">over \u20ac3 million, as Adriaports reported last April.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The reactivation of the \u201cCement Terminal\u201d <strong>will initially bring around fifteen vessel calls, with the product stored in Seadock-area silos while awaiting delivery across Europe.<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00abFor the Samer Group,\u00bb commented <strong>Chairman Enrico Samer<\/strong>, \u00abthis is an important agreement that strengthens our Group\u2019s role through the dynamism of one of our subsidiaries and creates further value in the Industrial Port area of Trieste, which should be seen as a high-potential zone\u00bb.<br \/>\n\u00abIn recent weeks,\u00bb said <strong>Chairman and CEO Piero Bessi<\/strong>, \u00abSeadock has completed a series of operations that highlight the company\u2019s strength and its multidisciplinary vocation\u2014from maxi-yacht construction to heavy lifts, the loading of large manufactured items and oversized cargoes\u2014most recently the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/logistics\/a-guinness-record-valve-ships-out-from-the-port-of-trieste\/\">Guinness-record valve produced by Orion<\/a> that we will load between 8 and 9
