TRIESTE – <\/strong>Trieste Airport Friuli Venezia Giulia<\/a> has appointed Fabio Gallo as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors today named him CEO of the company that operates the Ronchi dei Legionari airport.<\/p>\n

Gallo holds a degree in business economics from Universit\u00e0 Carlo Cattaneo \u2013 LIUC Business University and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid. He brings a management track record in the airport and infrastructure sector<\/strong>, with operational, financial and traffic development roles, gained in particular at SOGEAAL \u2013 Alghero Airport \u2013 and previously at F2i SGR. \u00abFabio Gallo\u2019s leadership will ensure the airport\u2019s continued growth \u2013 commented Trieste Airport Chairman Antonio Marano<\/strong> \u2013 . I congratulate Fabio Gallo on the appointment and express my full confidence in the airport\u2019s new leadership\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The manager takes over from Marco Consalvo, recently appointed head of the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, at a particularly favourable time for Trieste Airport. 2025 closed with the best result ever in terms of passenger traffic, surpassing for the first time in its history the 1.6 million mark. A total of 1,651,702 passengers were handled<\/a>, up 25% on 2024, 77% on 2023 and 136% on 2022, confirming a positive trend that has lasted for three consecutive years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During 2025 the airport further expanded its network, launching new direct services to Lamezia Terme, Prague, Rotterdam and Stockholm. The total number of routes served rose to 27, strengthening the airport\u2019s role as a key mobility infrastructure for Friuli Venezia Giulia. Growth in international traffic was particularly significant<\/strong>, exceeding 770,000 passengers in 2025 alone, up 35% on the previous year and accounting for 47% of total traffic. Domestic traffic exceeded 878,000 passengers, up 18% on 2024, representing the remaining 53%.<\/p>\n

Frankfurt, London, Barcelona, Krakow and Valencia were the most used international destinations, while domestically the main drivers were Rome Fiumicino, Palermo, Bari, Catania and Naples. July confirmed itself as the busiest month of the year, with around 170,000 passengers<\/strong>, while Sunday 19 October recorded the daily peak with 8,479 passengers in total across arrivals and departures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
