PORDENONE – Interporto Pordenone<\/a> is opening a new phase in the management of its intermodal terminal: a direct award to InRail<\/a>, with the aim, as CEO Martin Ausserdorfer clarified, of strengthening the hub\u2019s role in connections with Northern Italy and with the main ports.<\/strong>
\nThe decision comes after the end of the relationship with Hupac<\/strong> and fits into a broader path that looks towards the possible establishment of a mixed public-private company. \u00abWe were faced with two options: a new tender or the launch of a public-private company \u2013 explained Interporto Pordenone CEO Sergio Bolzonello<\/strong> \u2013. We chose to explore this second route, which today represents the direction indicated by the Board of Directors and shared with the shareholders\u00bb.<\/p>\n

InRail is part of the Autobrennero Group, a factor that weighed in the overall assessment. The direct award is described as a necessary technical step to avoid interruptions<\/strong> to the terminal\u2019s activity while work continues on the new corporate structure. The estimated timeframe to reach the possible public-private company is 12\u201315 months, considering the formal steps required by the shareholders, the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce and the Pordenone City Council.<\/p>\n

From InRail\u2019s side, Martin Ausserdorfer reiterated the terminal\u2019s central role.<\/strong> \u00abPordenone Intermodal Terminal is a strategic asset for North-East logistics and for European connections<\/strong>\u00bb, he said, explaining that the goal is to enhance it as a reference intermodal hub, strengthening links with Northern Italy and with the main ports<\/strong> and integrating it into the European network.
\nTo ensure operational continuity during the transition phase, Interporto opted for a direct award to InRail lasting one year, from 15 January 2026 to 14 January 2027, with the possibility of a six-month technical extension<\/strong>. \u00abWe needed an operator that was immediately operational and solid from an industrial standpoint \u2013 Bolzonello added \u2013. InRail guaranteed full availability, is present in the area with an office in Udine and is part of a group that is investing in rail transport\u00bb.
\nInterporto Pordenone President Silvano Pascolo described it as an \u00aboptimal solution\u00bb, stressing that the agreement makes it possible to keep the terminal operational while at the same time creating the conditions for a step change in management, with a more integrated and efficient system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
