TRIESTE – MSC Cruises<\/a> has confirmed a long-term growth plan that will take its fleet to 35 ships by 2035<\/strong>, strengthening the company\u2019s global positioning and further expanding its range of itineraries and destinations. The announcement was made in Milan during the presentation of the company\u2019s strategy, attended by the Italian management team. The industrial plan calls for 12 new vessels over the next ten years<\/strong>, compared with 23 currently in service.
\nAs early as 2026, the new flagship MSC World Asia is scheduled to be launched, while sister ship MSC World Atlantic will join the fleet in 2027<\/strong>, both part of the World Class.<\/p>\n

\u00abOur investment in new ships and in the New Frontier platform reflects our commitment to offering ever more advanced cruise experiences and to consolidating MSC Cruises\u2019 global leadership,\u00bb said Leonardo Massa, Vice President Southern Europe<\/strong> of the MSC Group\u2019s cruise division, also stressing the industrial and employment impact of the newbuildings at the yards and in the territories involved. Among the operational highlights, MSC Poesia will sail in Alaska for the first time, also introducing the MSC Yacht Club luxury concept on this ship, following a major refurbishment that also involved MSC Magnifica.<\/p>\n

The itineraries will call at some of the iconic destinations of the \u2018Last Frontier\u2019, between Alaska and Canada<\/strong>. In the Mediterranean, two new destinations will be added starting this summer. MSC Lirica will call at Syros, in the Cyclades, while MSC Divina will call weekly at Marmaris, on Turkey\u2019s south-western coast, expanding the offer between the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. Presence in the Caribbean is also growing. MSC Opera will operate year-round in the Southern Caribbean, with new itineraries in both winter and summer, an absolute first for the company. Departures will be from La Romana in the Dominican Republic and, from April 2027, also from Fort-de-France in Martinique. Cruises will be 7 nights, with the option to combine two consecutive itineraries in a \u201cbutterfly\u201d format.
