TRIESTE –<\/strong> Autostrade Alto Adriatico<\/a> is moving to reduce fuel prices at its service areas, with a temporary discount of up to 5 euro cents per litre. The concessionaire, which operates sixteen service areas along the north-eastern motorway network (A4 Venice-Trieste, A28 Portogruaro-Conegliano, A23 Udine Sud-Palmanova, A34 Villesse-Gorizia and A57 Mestre bypass)<\/strong>, said it is ready to step in to help contain costs for users in response to the rise in prices linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The initiative is part of a coordinated action with the other concessionaires belonging to Aiscat and provides for the transfer of royalties deriving from the sub-concessions of the refuelling areas.<\/p>\n

This mechanism makes it possible to apply a reduction in pump prices for a period of 20 days. The discount of up to 5 euro cents per litre comes on top of the 25-cent cut in excise duties decided by the Government<\/strong> by decree law of 18 March, strengthening the overall effect on the final price for motorists and hauliers. According to chairman Marco Monaco, the aim is to send a concrete signal to families, workers and commuters using one of the busiest motorway networks in Italy and Europe, especially ahead of the increase in traffic linked to the Easter period.
