{"id":38524,"date":"2026-04-16T21:03:59","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T19:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/uncategorized\/fincantieri-three-new-lng-ships-for-princess-cruises\/"},"modified":"2026-04-19T16:04:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T14:04:46","slug":"fincantieri-three-new-lng-ships-for-princess-cruises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipyards\/fincantieri-three-new-lng-ships-for-princess-cruises\/","title":{"rendered":"Fincantieri, three new LNG ships for Princess Cruises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TRIESTE &#8211;<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fincantieri.com\/it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fincantieri<\/a> has signed a new cruise ship order with <strong>Princess Cruises for three LNG units<\/strong>, consolidating Monfalcone\u2019s long-term role.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement, announced during Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, provides for the construction of <strong>three Voyager-class cruise ships. Deliveries are scheduled for 2035, 2038 and 2039,<\/strong> with construction at the Monfalcone shipyard. The value is described as \u201cvery significant\u201d, therefore <strong>above 2 billion euros according to the classification adopted by the group.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The units will have a <strong>gross tonnage of around 183,000 tonnes and capacity for around 4,700 passengers. Propulsion will be based mainly on liquefied natural gas<\/strong>, a solution now widely used in cruise shipbuilding to reduce emissions and environmental impact compared with traditional fuels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abWe are proud to announce this new agreement with Princess Cruises, which further strengthens a long-standing partnership. The new orders &#8211; said <strong>Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri<\/strong> &#8211; provide solid visibility on the workload for our shipyards, and especially for Monfalcone, through to 2039, while supporting optimal and coherent development of the cruise business, in line with the objectives of the 2026\u20132030 Business Plan. With the new Voyager-class units, we continue to enhance our know-how in advanced and sustainable shipbuilding, supporting Princess on its growth path and confirming our role as a reference industrial partner for the evolution of the cruise industry\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gus Antorcha, president of Princess Cruises, commented<\/strong>: \u00abThe Voyager class will appeal both to our most loyal guests and to new generations of Princess passengers. From outstanding dining to more welcoming pool areas, through to evolved entertainment and completely redesigned spaces, we are renewing the Princess experience in every dimension\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In recent years Fincantieri has already built two Sphere-class ships for Princess Cruises, Sun Princess and Star Princess<\/strong>, both built in Monfalcone and delivered in 2024 and 2025 respectively. With this new order, the balance of the collaboration between the two companies grows further, having <strong>led over the past 35 years to the construction of 21 ships at the same
