TRIESTE –<\/strong> Somec<\/a> is strengthening its presence in the international cruise market with a new 38 million euro order<\/strong> in the marine glazing segment.
\nThe contract concerns five newbuild cruise ships<\/strong> ordered by a major French shipbuilding group on behalf of two international cruise companies.<\/p>\n

The order was secured through the Horizons division, specialised in engineered systems for marine architecture and building fa\u00e7ades.<\/strong> The supply includes traditional window systems for cabins and balcony suites, as well as AVSW (Automatic Vertical Sliding Windows) systems<\/strong>, a technology developed and patented by Somec.<\/p>\n

The AVSW systems are designed to improve comfort during navigation, thanks to high performance in terms of safety, sound insulation and sealing. The solution also makes it possible to turn the window system into a kind of \u00abinfinite balcony\u00bb, extending the continuity between indoors and outdoors<\/strong> and offering a completely open view of the sea.<\/p>\n

Operational activities will begin in the third quarter of 2026 and continue until 2031<\/strong>, with economic effects distributed throughout the execution period of the order.<\/p>\n
