Long live the friendship between Italy and Hungary\u00bb, <strong>Magyar himself wrote on Instagram at the end of his meeting with Meloni.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe project, developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/adriaport.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adria Port<\/a>, a company controlled by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is one of Budapest\u2019s most important logistics investments on the Adriatic. With a financial commitment of <strong>around 200 million euros, the terminal is expected to become operational in 2028<\/strong> and aims to give Hungary direct access to the sea, strengthening the competitiveness of its exports and access to global markets.<br \/>\nThe infrastructure will be built on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/adria-port-moves-beyond-the-concept-phase-concrete-development-begins\/\">an area of around 32-34 hectares included in the Free Port regime<\/a> and will be equipped with a 650-metre quay, capable of accommodating large vessels, including bulk carriers and feeders. <strong>Quay construction works are already under way, while on the landside the project will rely on a connection to the national railway network through the new Aquilinia station<\/strong>, developed with the support of RFI.<br \/>\nAt the same time, railway integration between the North Adriatic and the Hungarian market is also moving forward. Adria Port Zrt. has in fact signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/shipping-en\/port-of-trieste-hungary-new-agreement-for-adria-port\/\">strategic agreement with GYSEV Cargo<\/a> to develop a stable maritime-rail link between Trieste and Hungary. The agreement, signed by P\u00e9ter Garai for Adria Port and by Andr\u00e1s Riegler and P\u00e9ter Tisza for GYSEV Cargo, aims to create regular rail services, fostering the integration of intermodal infrastructure and long-term logistics cooperation.<br \/>\nIn recent years, Budapest has progressively strengthened its presence in the Friuli Venezia Giulia port, considered strategic for intercepting traffic from the Mediterranean bound for Central Europe. <strong>The new infrastructure is in fact part of a broader Hungarian strategy of logistics autonomy, aimed at reducing dependence on Northern European ports and<\/strong> consolidating trade corridors along the Adriatic route.<br \/>\nConfirming the centrality of the project, in recent days Adria Port\u2019s management took part in Budapest in a <strong>technical meeting with the Maritime Transport Committee of the Hungarian freight forwarders\u2019 association and the Association of Hungarian Danube Ports, hosted at Budapest Freeport Logistics<\/strong>. The discussion focused on the progress of the terminal, planned capacities, rail links and the integration of Hungarian freight flows into the maritime services operating through
