TRIESTE –<\/strong> The Udine railway junction<\/strong> has officially been included among Italy\u2019s strategic national infrastructure projects placed under special commissioner management: the project will be led by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana CEO Aldo Isi, who has been appointed Extraordinary Commissioner for the work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the conversion into law of Decree-Law 32\/2026, the proposal put forward by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region was accepted, with the aim of speeding up timeframes and procedures for one of the projects considered central to the logistics and rail development of the North-East.<\/a><\/p>\n

The measure was welcomed with satisfaction by the regional councillor for Infrastructure and Territory, Cristina Amirante,<\/strong> who described it as \u00aba strategic result for Friuli Venezia Giulia and for the entire North-East railway system\u00bb.
\nAccording to the Region, the inclusion of the Udine junction in the list of commissioner-led projects represents a decisive step towards increasing the capacity of the regional railway network and strengthening connections along the European TEN-T corridors.<\/p>\n

\u00abThis is a strategic infrastructure not only for Udine but for the entire regional logistics system\u00bb, Amirante stressed<\/strong>, highlighting how the new framework will make it possible to increase network capacity, improve the efficiency of freight and passenger traffic and reduce interference between local mobility and national and international traffic flows.
\nThe commissioner\u2019s appointment is aimed above all at simplifying and speeding up the implementation process through accelerated procedures, considered essential for a project that has been awaited for years and is regarded as crucial to the area\u2019s infrastructure competitiveness.<\/p>\n

The project is part of the broader plan to strengthen rail infrastructure in Friuli Venezia Giulia, involving connections between ports, inland terminals and the main European corridors: Baltic-Adriatic, Mediterranean and Western Balkans-Eastern Mediterranean.<\/strong> This is a system the Region considers strategic to consolidating Friuli Venezia Giulia\u2019s role as a European logistics platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
