VENICE –<\/strong> Venezia Investimenti<\/strong> has acquired the shares held by Veneto Sviluppo in APVS, taking control of Venezia Terminal Passeggeri (VTP), the company that manages Venice\u2019s cruise terminal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The divestment process launched by the Veneto Region through the regional financial company Veneto Sviluppo, which sold its 50% stake in APVS Srl, the company controlling 53% of the share capital<\/strong> of Venezia Terminal Passeggeri, has now been completed. The transaction was finalised with the transfer of the stake to Venezia Investimenti, as provided for in the corporate agreements signed from 2016 onwards.<\/p>\n

Following the closing of the transaction, Venezia Investimenti holds 99% of APVS, while the remaining 1% stays with APV Investimenti. Through APVS, the company therefore controls 53% of VTP.<\/strong> The remaining share capital is divided between Gruppo SAVE (22.18%), Finpax (22.18%), a company mostly attributable to Venezia Investimenti, and the Venice Rovigo Delta Lagunare Chamber of Commerce (2.64%).<\/p>\n

The transaction comes at an important stage for the Venetian company. VTP operates under a maritime state property concession recently extended until 31 May 2036, thanks to the agreement signed in December 2024 with the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority.<\/strong> The extension of the concession is linked to a \u20ac19.4 million investment plan<\/a> aimed at developing infrastructure and technologies serving cruise traffic.<\/p>\n

Alongside the corporate transaction, the shareholders\u2019 meeting appointed the new board of directors. The same board appointed Monica Scarpa as acting chair.<\/strong> The appointment will be temporary until the company\u2019s final restructuring and related governance arrangements are completed, a step expected by the end of the summer after the remaining formal and authorisation procedures have been finalised.<\/p>\n

Outgoing VTP chairman and chairman of Veneto Sviluppo, Fabrizio Spagna<\/strong>, said the sale represented the implementation of the instructions received from the Veneto Region, underlining the role played by the regional financial company during a particularly complex phase for Venice\u2019s cruise sector. According to Spagna, the work carried out in recent years and the investments launched provide a solid basis for the future of the company and of the entire economic supply chain linked to cruises.<\/p>\n

Venezia Investimenti chairman Alfonso Piccirillo<\/strong> thanked Spagna for the work carried out and for the renewal of the concession until 2036, describing it as a fundamental step to ensure prospects for development and investment. Piccirillo also announced the intention to open, together with the other shareholders, a dialogue with institutions and the Port Authority to help define a cruise development model compatible with the needs of Venice and its territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
