TRIESTE –<\/strong> New infrastructure works and maintenance on the railway networks of Slovenia and Croatia<\/strong> will lead to several traffic interruptions in the coming weeks, with repercussions for freight connections to and from the ports of Koper and Rijeka.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The summer period is therefore once again proving particularly intense in terms of railway works in the Northern Adriatic area<\/a>, with interventions designed to improve the infrastructure but which, in the short term, will require more complex management of rail logistics flows towards two of the main ports in the Northern Adriatic.<\/p>\n

As regards Slovenia, Slovenian Railways has announced a complete and continuous closure of the line between Koper and Diva\u010da from 6 a.m. on 4 July to 6 p.m. on 5 July 2026.<\/strong> The interruption is necessary to allow maintenance works to be carried out along the railway connection that represents the only rail access to the port of Koper.
\nThe suspension of traffic will affect the scheduling of freight trains bound for or departing from the Slovenian port. Railway operators are preparing timetable changes in order to limit the impact on shipments as much as possible.<\/p>\n

In Croatia, meanwhile, an extraordinary closure has been ordered between \u0160krljevo and Su\u0161ak Pe\u0107ine, along the railway route connecting Zagreb to Rijeka.<\/strong> The interruption will be in force from 6 a.m. on 13 June until 6 p.m. on 14 June and was made necessary by the urgent removal of unstable rock formations.
\nThe measure will affect rail freight connections between the port of Rijeka and several important destinations in Central and Eastern Europe, including Budapest in Hungary, Dunajsk\u00e1 Streda in Slovakia and In\u0111ija in Serbia. Operational changes and longer transit times are possible.<\/p>\n

In addition to the extraordinary closures, there is also a schedule of planned interruptions on the Croatian network between June and July.<\/strong> These include works on the Greda-Sisak section from 18 to 21 June and again from 23 to 26 July, works between Slavonski Brod and Sibinj from 24 to 27 June, as well as the already mentioned closure between \u0160krljevo and Su\u0161ak Pe\u0107ine.
\nFurther works are planned at Dugo Selo station from 16 to 19 July and on the Novska-Sunja line from 24 to 26 July. According to the Croatian railway infrastructure manager, alternative routes will be arranged where possible.<\/p>\n

In addition to the continuous closures, numerous daily interruptions are also in force on various sections of the Croatian network<\/strong>, with effects on the planning of freight trains to and from the port of Rijeka.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
