TRIESTE –<\/strong> New contract in the cruise sector for Somec<\/a>. The group has announced the acquisition, through its Horizons division, of a contract worth a total of \u20ac60 million<\/strong> for the construction of integrated glazed systems for three new cruise ships.
\nThe order was signed with the Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku and concerns units that will be built for one of the leading international brands in the cruise sector<\/strong>. The agreement represents an expansion of an existing collaboration: two options previously communicated to the market in July 2025 have in fact been converted into firm orders, with a third ship added.<\/p>\n

The contract will be managed by the Horizons division, specialised in engineered systems for naval architecture and civil fa\u00e7ades.<\/strong> The work includes the turnkey supply of the entire balcony system, the vertically motorised opening windows for Somec\u2019s patented Infinity Cabins, as well as the windows and glazed structures installed on the forward upper decks and in the ships\u2019 main public areas.
\nAccording to the company, this is one of the most complex projects ever entrusted to the division, both in terms of economic value and the extent of the planned supplies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Production and installation activities will take place over a four-year period, between 2027 and 2031,<\/strong> with revenues distributed progressively according to the progress of the construction programme for the three units.
\nThe acquisition further strengthens the group\u2019s order book in the shipbuilding sector. The new contract is in fact in addition to those announced in recent weeks, worth \u20ac38 million on 7 May<\/a> and \u20ac56 million on 19 May 2026<\/a>, confirming the strong commercial performance of the Horizons division in the new-generation cruise ship market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
