Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti has <strong>signed the decree unlocking around \u20ac200 million<\/strong> for infrastructure works in the port of Trieste area, thereby guaranteeing financial coverage for the planned projects.<\/p>\n<p>The signing marks a decisive step for one of the port\u2019s main development projects and, therefore, for Friuli Venezia Giulia\u2019s logistics system. The resources will make it possible to ensure continuity for the investments planned in the former Ferriera area, the steelworks site set to become <strong>one of the main hubs for strengthening the port\u2019s rail and intermodal capacity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/it\/logistica\/authority-trieste-stoppa-la-gara-per-stazione-servola\/\">The tender for the design and execution of the works had already been launched and then halted<\/a> over fears \u2014 in fact, the certainty \u2014 that the works could not be completed within the deadlines imposed by the Complementary Fund to the NRRP. <strong>The decree, whose amount is actually \u20ac199.6 million, includes the original \u20ac180 million and \u20ac19 million to cover cost increases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At present, under a Port Authority measure, the deadline for <strong>participation in the tender has been set at 30 July<\/strong>. After the necessary checks, the winner of the tender will be selected by October, barring appeals, which are always possible in procedures of this kind. In the best-case scenario, works should start in the first months of 2027.<br \/>\nThe project also includes the <strong>junction for connection to the Grande Viabilit\u00e0 road system, which will allow trucks to have direct access to the HHLA PLT Italy terminal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friuli Venezia Giulia Region president Massimiliano Fedriga<\/strong> stressed that the decree guarantees the resources needed for the strategic projects of the regional logistics platform, highlighting the result of cooperation between the Government, the Region and the Port System Authority.
