TRIESTE –<\/strong> With the arrival of the containership Nysted Maersk, the Koper container terminal inaugurated a new liner service dedicated to trade with the Eastern Mediterranean<\/strong> at the beginning of July.<\/p>\n

The rotation is operated by Maersk together with Japan’s Ocean Network Express (ONE) and directly connects the Slovenian port with the Egyptian hubs of Damietta and Port Said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The service is operated with three vessels with a capacity ranging between 1,100 and 2,500 TEU.<\/strong> The goal is to offer shorter transit times and greater reliability for cargo flows between the Adriatic and the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly strengthening connections intended for regional and transshipment traffic.<\/p>\n

The launch of the new service takes place during a phase of profound reorganization of maritime services in the North Adriatic. As reported yesterday by AdriaPorts, the Gemini<\/a> alliance is currently modifying its network, increasingly focusing on the new Rijeka container terminal operated by Maersk as a hub for cargo distribution in the Upper Adriatic.<\/p>\n
