{"id":40298,"date":"2026-07-14T22:15:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T20:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/uncategorized\/another-truck-crash-on-the-a4-towards-venice\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T22:16:46","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T20:16:46","slug":"another-truck-crash-on-the-a4-towards-venice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adriaports.com\/en\/logistics\/another-truck-crash-on-the-a4-towards-venice\/","title":{"rendered":"Another truck crash on the A4 towards Venice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TRIESTE &#8211;<\/strong> Another accident involving heavy goods vehicles has occurred on the A4 motorway, where a <strong>three-truck rear-end collision forced the closure of the section between Portogruaro and Cessalto towards Venice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The latest accident involving heavy goods vehicles has once again raised concerns about safety on the A4 motorway. <strong>At around 8:30 a.m. today, Tuesday 14 July, three trucks were involved in a rear-end collision<\/strong> on the stretch between San Stino di Livenza and Cessalto, heading towards Venice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One of the drivers became trapped inside the cab of his vehicle. Firefighters extricated him, and he remained conscious throughout the rescue operation.<\/strong> Emergency medical services, the Traffic Police and Autostrade Alto Adriatico personnel also attended the scene. To allow rescue operations and secure the area, <strong>the motorway section between Portogruaro and Cessalto towards Venice was closed.<\/strong> Vehicles travelling from Trieste and Udine were required to exit at the Portogruaro toll station. The San Stino di Livenza interchange towards Venice and the A28\/A4 junction in the same direction were also closed.<\/p>\n<p>The closure caused major traffic disruption along one of the main freight corridors linking north-eastern Italy with the rest of the country. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Traffic Police.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The incident is the latest in a series of crashes that have affected the Veneto\u2013Friuli Venezia Giulia section of the A4 in recent months,<\/strong> a motorway used daily by a high volume of heavy goods vehicles travelling to the Northern Adriatic ports and international border crossings, with inevitable consequences for traffic flow and the logistics supply chain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The section between Portogruaro and Cessalto towards Venice reopened at around 11:15 a.m. today<\/strong> after being closed following the collision involving three heavy goods vehicles, including a car transporter. One person was injured but remained conscious. The San Stino di Livenza interchange towards Venice and the A28\/A4 junction in the same direction have also reopened.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic queues are currently reported in several sections between Latisana and San Stino di Livenza towards Venice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TRIESTE &#8211;
