TRIESTE – Jeroen Eijsink, 52, will become the new Chief Executive Officer of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA). The appointment was made official on 31 July by the company’s Supervisory Board and will take effect on 1 October 2025, with an initial term of three years.
With over 25 years of international experience in the logistics and transport industry, Eijsink succeeds Angela Titzrath, who will step down after nine years at the helm of the company. In Trieste, HHLA operates through its subsidiary HHLA PLT Italy, which is developing the port’s future container terminal.
A Dutch national, Eijsink has held top positions at DHL Freight (Germany, Benelux, and UK), served as President Europe at C.H. Robinson, and, since 2023, has been CEO of the Lithuanian Girteka Group, where he led a strategic realignment process. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and began his career at Siemens in the Digitalisation Division.
According to Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Chairman of HHLA’s Supervisory Board, the appointment marks a strategic strengthening at a time of transformation for the industry:
“With Jeroen Eijsink, HHLA gains an internationally experienced leader with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of global logistics. His proven ability to lead and transform complex organisations, combined with a clear vision for efficiency and innovation, will reinforce HHLA during a critical phase of its development. We are confident that Jeroen Eijsink will provide the right momentum to keep HHLA competitive, forward-looking and successful.”
Commenting on his appointment, the new CEO stated:
“I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for the trust they have placed in me. I look forward to bringing my experience to bear in my role as CEO at HHLA and to contributing to the company’s growth in today’s dynamic environment. Together, we will seize the opportunities of transformation and further strengthen HHLA’s position as a key player in European logistics, for the benefit of our customers.”
