TRIESTE – The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority (ports of Venice and Chioggia) has officially established its Management Committee.

The collegiate body, governed by Law 84/1994, works alongside the president to define development policies and the strategic planning of the port system. It also plays an important role in regulating port labour and state-owned concessions.
On the president’s proposal, the Management Committee will also appoint the Secretary-General.

The committee includes Dennis Wellington and Giuseppe Fasiol, representing respectively the Metropolitan City of Venice and the Veneto Region. It also comprises Rear Admiral Filippo Marini (Maritime Director of Veneto) and Commander Andrea Palma, representing the Chioggia Harbour Master’s Office.

“With this step, the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority can now move swiftly towards a fully operational governance set-up, the implementation of numerous ongoing projects and, at the same time, the definition of the medium- and long-term development strategy for the Veneto port system,” commented Matteo Gasparato, President of the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority.
