TRIESTE – The Mestieri division of the Veneto-based company Somec has secured new contracts with a total value exceeding €21 million.
The orders concern next-generation cruise ships, destined for a leading shipowner in the luxury segment.
The three contracts—one of which is an option—were awarded to the subsidiary TSI–Total Solution Interiors by a major Italian shipyard and provide for the supply of complete, custom-made furnishings for two large speciality-restaurant areas on each ship.
The works will involve very large areas—around 2,100 square metres per ship—and stand out for a high level of customisation, design complexity and execution quality, in line with the highest standards in the sector.
Delivery of the ships is expected between 2028 and 2032, while the economic impact of the contracts will be spread between 2026 and 2032.
«These orders come in a context in which the cruise industry continues to stand out for its dynamism and for demand oriented towards quality, customisation and attention to the onboard experience—areas in which interiors are taking on an increasingly central role in shipowners’ offerings. In this scenario, Mestieri and TSI strengthen their positioning as a partner—commented Somec Chairman Oscar Marchetto—capable of interpreting complex, tailor-made projects, contributing to the creation of high value-added spaces that define the identity of the vessel and the overall guest experience on board».
