TRIESTE – Saipem has announced two major new offshore contracts at the end of 2025: one worth around $425 million for activities linked to the development of the Sakarya gas field in Turkey and a further $600 million in Saudi Arabia for pipeline and facilities work in the fields.

In Sakarya, in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea, the roughly $425 million contract was awarded by Turkish Petroleum OTC. It includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of three new subsea pipelines to connect the Goktepe reserve to phase 3 of the Sakarya field, over about 153 kilometres. The project will last around two and a half years, with pipe-laying scheduled for the second half of 2027 using the Castorone pipelay vessel.

In Saudi Arabia, Saipem won two offshore contracts under the long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco for a total of about $600 million. The first contract (around 32 months) covers the installation of around 34 kilometres of pipelines and topside structural works at the Berri and Abu Safah fields. The second (around 12 months) includes subsea work at the Marjan field and engineering and construction activities for about 300 metres of onshore pipelines with related tie-ins. The operations will use vessels already in the region, and fabrication will take place at the Dammam yard to strengthen local capabilities.
