TRIESTE – Samer Group is strengthening its presence in the industrial port of Trieste, focusing on megayacht shipbuilding, with new projects along the Zaule Navigable Canal.
The core of the development concerns the area managed by Seadock, where activities linked to the construction of steel hulls for large yachts are being consolidated. These are subcontracted works for the CNB Consortium of Ancona, already launched in recent years. In 2025, a 43-metre hull from the Deep Bleu line was launched, while a second was completed and transferred by sea at the beginning of 2026 for the final fitting-out phases.
The industrial value of these productions is significant: a hull of this type can be worth around 1.5 million euros, with the economic impact increasing in the subsequent stages of work. The activity requires specific technical expertise and is contributing to the emergence of a local supply chain linked to high-end yachting within the port area.
To support this growth, plans are being studied for the construction of a new shed dedicated to megayacht processing. The project provides for a large structure, around 25 metres high, 35 metres wide and 90 metres long, which would make it possible to extend activities currently limited to hull construction alone, bringing part of the subsequent stages directly to Trieste.
This development forms part of a broader group strategy, which is diversifying beyond its historic core business of ro-ro traffic. The Navigable Canal area is becoming a space where port activities, industrial processing and logistics coexist. In recent months, new traffic has also started. At the beginning of 2026, a cement terminal entered into operation, developed together with the Turkish company Medcem, with the recovery of existing silos and a system for direct unloading from ships. The facility has a capacity of around 120,000 tonnes per year. Further handling of industrial materials, such as fly ash used in construction, is also under assessment.
