TRIESTE – The shareholders’ meeting of TTP (Trieste Terminal Passeggeri) approves the 2020 budget with a loss of 2 million euros.
In a note of the company, it is highlighted as the pandemic from Covid 19 has hit hard the sectors of competence: a decrease in turnover of 59% compared to 2019.
In particular, a -80% for cruises, -72% for events and conventions and a substantial drop in another rather large budget item for TTP: -35% in the management of car parks.
Despite these numbers, the members of TTP – Port Authority and TAMI (where, among others, the cruise lines Costa and MSC participate) renew their commitment to maintaining a solid presence in Trieste.
“The members of TTP hope that the effort developed to ensure cruise activities and its services in Trieste, as well as guaranteeing direct and indirect employment, will be understood by local institutions – reads the press release – so that the effects economic and tourist activities are, with the recovery, a factor of growth and development of the territory”.
