TRIESTE – Venice Ro Port MoS, the terminal of the Motorways of the Sea at the port of Venice, is about to pass from two to four docks. The new South dock with its two 240-metre and 300-metre berths has been completed, and the back quay works are now underway. After 2020 strongly marked by the Covid pandemic, the first half of 2021 displays a “light and shade” result and has not yet given any indications that would suggest that the crisis is definitively behind us. Nonetheless, Venice Ro Port MoS is investing, looking at economic indicators that predict a marked improvement in the Italian and European economy, particularly for the years 2022 and 2023.
Intermodality and a favourable geographical position make Venice Ro Port MoS particularly attractive for developing all three main business sectors: Ro-Ro, Ro-Pax, and Car Carrier. Four docks, 280,000 square meters of back quay, four railway tracks inside the terminal for a total extension of 2,800 meters and an easy connection with the road, motorway and river network characterize the terminal, which has been in operation since 2014.
