TRIESTE – The Grimaldi Group is strengthening its Ro-Ro service network by adding a fourth vessel on the Trieste–Gemport line.

The Eurocargo Roma was handled in recent days at the logistics platform operated by HHLA Plt Italy and, with a capacity of 250 units, will operate four weekly sailings. The new vessel joins the Eco Malta, Eco Mediterranea and Eco Salerno, all hybrid-powered and each capable of carrying over 500 trailers.

The connection with the port of Patras bound for Ambarli is also being reinforced. As part of this route, two regular weekly services are operated among the three ports, in addition to five round trips between Trieste, Venice and Patras. The decision to add another vessel comes as part of the ongoing competition with DFDS for dominance along the historic Motorway of the Sea with Turkey.
