TRIESTE – In recent days, the Port of Koper held an important business meeting in Istanbul as part of its search for new potential clients in Turkey.
The management of Luka Koper and the Port Community of the Slovenian city hosted 130 Turkish business partners from various logistics sectors at the Sheraton Hotel in Ataköy (Istanbul). The event was organized at the invitation of Borut Šemrl, Marketing Manager of the Port of Koper, Čedomir Bojanić, President of the Transport Association, and Gracijan Necmeskal, President of the Slovenian Maritime Agents Association.
The business event in the Turkish capital, which saw strong participation from the Koper port community, served both to hold one-to-one meetings with existing partners and, above all, to establish new commercial relationships. Discussions focused on the current situation and the challenges facing the logistics sector.
Representatives of the Slovenian port community presented the many advantages and logistics services offered, and outlined the latest developments and new opportunities arising from upcoming infrastructure projects at Slovenia’s only maritime cargo port, which are scheduled for completion in the coming years.
“Luka Koper has been cooperating with Turkey for several decades, particularly in the container and automotive sectors. After a break of a few years,” the company emphasized, “we decided to organize a new business event in Turkey to showcase our strengths and address the current challenges facing the logistics sector.”
Nevenka Kržan, Chair of the Management Board of Luka Koper, stressed that good relations between all stakeholders are crucial to the company’s success and performance. “Over the past year, the entire sector has faced many challenges related to the Red Sea crisis. It was essential to adapt quickly to the situation and to act in a coordinated manner,” Kržan added, highlighting the many ongoing investments and those planned for the near future.
