TRIESTE – Fincantieri is strengthening its cooperation with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH through a new order for an ultra-luxury cruise ship destined for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand.
The value of the order, classified as “large” and therefore between 500 million and 1 billion euros, is subject to contractual and financial conditions typical of the sector, Fincantieri explains in a statement.
Delivery is scheduled for 2033 and the vessel will be the sister ship of the Seven Seas Prestige, the first ship of the new Prestige class currently under construction in Marghera, to be delivered in 2026. A second unit of the same class is already planned for 2030.
With a gross tonnage of 77,000, a length of 257 metres and a capacity of 822 passengers, the ship will offer one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the sector. The project combines luxury and technological innovation with particular attention to environmental sustainability.
The relationship between Fincantieri and NCLH remains one of the strongest worldwide: ten ships already built and thirteen on order for the Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises brands. A collaboration based on mutual trust, strategic vision and shared growth.
«The strengthening of the strategic cooperation with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., consolidated over time through numerous successful orders, confirms the solidity of our relationship and Fincantieri’s role as a key partner in the ultra-luxury segment represented by Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This new order – commented Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri – demonstrates the confidence that this shipowner places in our ability to design and build innovative, sustainable ships crafted with the utmost care, in line with the evolution of the luxury cruise market».
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of NCLH, noted that the newbuild «represents a step forward in the luxury segment, offering an even more exclusive experience and confirming the value of our partnership with Fincantieri, founded on quality and excellence».
