TRIESTE – The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region is launching a new funding package to strengthen the nautical sector.

With a total budget of €650,000, three distinct calls for applications will soon be activated, targeting boatbuilding companies, tourist ports, and territorial promotion initiatives.

The initiative, presented by Regional Councillor for Economic Development and Tourism Sergio Emidio Bini, implements the new regional nautical law that came into force on January 1. “Friuli Venezia Giulia is taking another important step toward the growth and promotion of the local nautical sector.

Through this implementing regulation, we are making €650,000 available across three new funding channels dedicated to boatbuilding companies, marinas, and the broader promotion of the sector,” Bini emphasized.

The first funding line, with a budget of €200,000, is reserved for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the recreational boating and shipbuilding supply chain. It offers a non-repayable grant equal to 25% of eligible expenses for investments in equipment, services, prototypes, patents, specialized consulting, and the development of networks or start-ups.

The second channel, with €300,000 in funding, targets owners and operators of marinas, harbors, and mooring facilities.

The grant will cover up to 80% of eligible expenses (maximum €100,000), with an additional 20% for projects that improve energy efficiency. Funds can be used for renovations, technological upgrades, equipment, furnishings, and service improvements.

Finally, the third call — managed by PromoTurismoFVG — focuses on promoting the sector, with a budget of €150,000. Eligible applicants include public and private entities in the nautical supply chain as well as sailing schools. Funding will support events and initiatives related to recreational boating, nautical tourism, and maritime culture. Grants will range from €2,000 to €5,000.
