TRIESTE – On 30 December 2025, Adriatic Gate Container Terminal at the Port of Rijeka signed the acceptance and handover certificate for the new quay cranes, marking their official entry into service.
The document was signed for AGCT by Ratko Tatalović, the terminal’s engineering manager, and for the manufacturer by Wang Qicheng. The signature marks the formal completion of the project and the operational start of the new equipment.
The meeting was attended by the teams involved in all phases of the project, from procurement to design, from construction to transport, through to unloading and commissioning of the cranes. For AGCT, representatives from procurement, engineering, infrastructure, human resources, finance, IT and commercial departments were present.
The ceremony also included a delegation from ZPMC, travelling from its Shanghai headquarters, with the project leaders and the heads of the European regional centre, confirming the manufacturer’s direct involvement in the final commissioning phases.
«This project is the result of strong teamwork and long-term coordination across multiple company functions,» said Tatalović, thanking the AGCT and ZPMC teams for their technical and organisational support.
With the new quay cranes now in operation, AGCT is strengthening its operational capacity, improving the terminal’s technological efficiency and consolidating its competitiveness within the Upper Adriatic port system.
