TRIESTE – Trieste Airport surpassed the 1.6 million passenger mark in 2025, the best result ever for the Friuli Venezia Giulia airport.

The figure confirms very strong growth, with +25% compared with the previous year and levels well above the pre-Covid period.
This volume growth reinforces the airport’s role as a key infrastructure asset for regional mobility and the area’s overall attractiveness. The airport is increasingly integrated with other transport networks and serves as an access gateway not only for air traffic, but also for tourist flows heading toward the Upper Adriatic port system.

This also includes the link with cruise traffic at the Port of Trieste. The airport is one of the main gateways for cruise passenger arrivals and departures, especially for embarkation and disembarkation operations that require fast and efficient connections between the maritime terminal and the national and international air network.
To support passenger growth, Trieste Airport has launched a set of works on access roads and external areas. Upgrading and modernization of services are underway, together with the future integration of the cycle path in front of the terminal, with the aim of making the airport more functional and accessible.

More orderly management of parking and vehicle flows is considered an integral part of the airport’s growth path, as it aims to consolidate results and support the overall development of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s transport system.
