TRIESTE – Alpe Adria, the logistics and intermodal transport company of the Port of Trieste, has opened a representative office in Budapest.
This afternoon, in front of a representative of the Hungarian government, the Italian ambassador in Budapest and the president of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, Zeno D’Agostino, as well as the top management of Alpe Adria, the new premises were inaugurated, which will also be made available to operators who need it. The structure will be equipped with a connection call center and an office of the Port Authority will also be located inside.
The initiative, planned for some time but delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is a step towards the strengthening of the relations between the port of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Hungarian government, after the latter’s decision to invest in Trieste. In the area of the former refinery of Aquilinia, in fact, in the next years a new terminal will be built as a result of a Hungarian commitment with the company Adria Port.
Alpe Adria, owned by the Port Authority of Trieste, Friulia (financial company of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region) and Mercitalia Rail (Ferrovie dello Stato Group),
it will essentially have the task of representing the entire port sector.
At today’s reception in Budapest were also present private port operators who already manage a representative office in the Hungarian capital.
