UDINE – The FVG Region wants to set up a Simplified Logistics Zone with tax breaks and incentives. The aim is to encourage new settlements and the development of already established companies.
In order to achieve this goal, the aim is to exploit the presence in Friuli Venezia Giulia of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, the logistics networks and the dry port facilities.
The shared way involving the territory was presented today in Udine to private stakeholders and local administrators by the Councillors for Infrastructure Graziano Pizzimenti, for Finance Barbara Zilli, for Productive Activities Sergio Emidio Bini and for Environmental Protection Fabio Scoccimarro.
Opening the debate, Councillor Pizzimenti explained that «Friuli Venezia Giulia, due to its location, endowments and vocation, is a hinge-territory, a connection platform for the flow of goods that from the South go up the eastern Mediterranean and enter the heart of continental Europe». According to the administrators of the Region, the creation of the ZSL would allow the opportunity to exploit these flows with handling and storage activities and support an economy of production and transformation based on processing and assembly.
«Those kinds of interventions cannot be imposed from above but must be developed by gathering the stimuli coming from the territory and the productive fabric,» specified Councillor Bini.
The Councillor for Finance Barbara Zilli remarked that «…. the implementation of measures to facilitate companies wishing to set up in Friuli Venezia Giulia, starting with the reduction of taxation and debureaucratization, are important tools for attracting new investors».
