TRIESTE – On the morning of Sunday 9 November, two crew members of a Panamanian merchant vessel, anchored in the roadstead of the port of Venice, were injured during on-board operations.
The master requested medical assistance from the Coast Guard, which immediately activated the intervention together with the 118 emergency service.
The medical evacuation operation, coordinated by the Coast Guard Operations Centre, enabled medical personnel to quickly reach the merchant ship and provide first aid to the injured, who were then urgently transferred to San Nicolò Hospital on the Lido.
Thanks to the swift coordination between the Coast Guard and medical personnel, the intervention was successfully completed, confirming the effectiveness of cooperation in maritime rescue, the Harbour Master’s Office noted in a statement.
