TRIESTE – An agreement between FS Logistix and Grimaldi Euromed is aimed at developing new integrated sea-rail solutions for միջազգային intermodal transport, with an initial focus on the Adriatic ports (the port of Trieste) and European inland logistics terminals.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Verona during LetExpo 2026 by Sabrina De Filippis, chief executive officer and general manager of FS Logistix, and Guido Grimaldi, president of ALIS (Associazione Logistica dell’Intermodalità Sostenibile).
The agreement provides for the development of intermodal transport services integrating the shipping links operated by the shipowning group with new rail services managed by the logistics hub of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane. The aim is to create more efficient logistics chains for industrial supply chains and international traffic flows.
In the short and medium term, the new rail services will be launched as an extension of the maritime routes already in operation, linking the Adriatic ports with a network of intermodal inland terminals in Italy and the rest of Europe. The idea is to develop dedicated rail links capable of extending inland the traffic flows handled by sea by the Grimaldi group.
In the medium to long term, the partnership also envisages extending the links to ports in Spain and the northern Tyrrhenian. The project also looks to flows originating from the Middle East and the Far East, with particular attention to the development of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, designed to connect India with Europe through the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with the port of Trieste as its terminal.
