TRIESTE – Fincantieri and TUI Cruises (a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd) have signed a contract for the design and construction of two new cruise ships.

This order replaces the Memorandum of Agreement signed in March 2025 with TUI AG, which had envisaged two ships for the Marella Cruises brand.
The vessels, to be delivered respectively in 2031 and 2032, will be sister ships to “Mein Schiff Relax” and “Mein Schiff Flow” – part of the InTUItion class – and will be powered by dual-fuel engines. With a gross tonnage of about 160,000, the new units will be larger than those originally planned for Marella Cruises and will be built according to the latest environmental standards.

The value of the order, subject to financing and other customary terms and conditions for this type of contract, is higher than that foreseen under the initial MoA for the Marella Cruises brand, while remaining within the range disclosed on March 31, 2025.
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with the TUI Cruises brand, further strengthening our relationship with both TUI and Royal Caribbean. This contract,” commented Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, “confirms the trust built over time and the successful collaboration already underway with the first two ships of the InTUItion class. It also demonstrates Fincantieri’s ability to support the fleet growth of the world’s leading cruise operators, combining innovation, sustainability and the excellence of Italian shipbuilding.”
