TRIESTE – Remazel, a company of the Fincantieri Group, has completed the acquisition of 100% of Brazilian firm H Tech Serviços e Manutenção Ltda., which is active in offshore facility inspection and maintenance services.

The deal strengthens the group’s industrial footprint in Brazil and forms part of Remazel’s growth path and consolidation in the global offshore-services market. The aim is to expand high value-added assistance and maintenance offerings, with a particular focus on the Brazilian market and neighbouring areas.

The acquisition is conceived as a long-term investment and is intended to create value for customers, partners and stakeholders. Brazil is in fact one of the fastest-growing markets for offshore Oil & Gas investment and at the same time represents a relevant development area for activities in the underwater (UW) domain, a segment in which Remazel plays a strategic role within the group.
In the coming months, a merger project between the two companies will be launched with the aim of maximising industrial and organisational synergies. Integration should make it possible to respond more effectively to growing service demand linked to Remazel’s installed equipment base, while also strengthening operational capacity in managing complex projects in the energy sector.

The combination of Remazel’s engineering know-how and organisational structure with H Tech’s operational capabilities is intended to create an entity able to support international projects characterised by high technical complexity, while maintaining high standards of reliability, safety and customer focus. H Tech is a Brazilian company specialising in offshore facility inspection and maintenance services and has more than 50 qualified technicians for onboard service operations.

«This acquisition fully fits within the Group’s international growth strategy. Brazil,” explained Pierroberto Folgiero, Fincantieri’s chief executive officer and General Manager, “is a rapidly expanding area for offshore Oil & Gas investment and also a context of significant development for the underwater domain. In this scenario, Remazel confirms itself as a key outpost to consolidate our industrial positioning in a high-technology segment».

Remazel is present in Trieste through Remac, the joint venture with Cartbubi. The company, headquartered in Bergamo, already has a local unit (Remazel shipyard) in the areas adjacent to Fincantieri’s Arsenale. Since 2020, it has had an agreement to manage and develop part of the spaces owned by Cartubi.
