TRIESTECircle Group, in collaboration with ARELOGIK, has been awarded the contract for a study to develop an advanced vehicle traffic monitoring system for the ports of Venice and Chioggia. The assignment, worth approximately €70,000, is part of the digital transformation plan promoted by the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority to improve operational efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. The project will be developed in two phases: the first involving the study and design of the monitoring network, and the second focused on the concrete implementation of the system, including sensors, software, and testing. The aim is to provide real-time data on port vehicle flows, to reduce waiting times, optimize logistics, and offer advanced services to hauliers and concession holders. The initiative is supported by the European project MILEPORT, funded under the Interreg Italy–Croatia program, which will contribute advanced transport modeling. “Our goal is to create a modern and seamless access system, cutting congestion and pollution to attract new markets and traffic,” explained Antonella Scardino, Secretary General of the Port Authority.
