TRIESTE – Jeroen Eijsink is from today the new CEO of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA). With more than 25 years of international experience in the transport and logistics sector, he will lead the German group with the goal of strengthening its competitiveness and sustainable development.
“I look forward to getting to know HHLA in the coming weeks – especially the staff across Europe. Together we will focus on the sustainable development of HHLA. Our goal is to continuously improve the company’s competitiveness and strengthen our position as a reliable partner in European logistics,” Eijsink said at his inauguration.
Born in the Netherlands, 52 years old, Eijsink began his career at Siemens before taking on senior roles at Deutsche Post DHL, including CEO of DHL Freight Germany and of DHL Freight Benelux & UK. In 2015 he joined C.H. Robinson, contributing to the group’s European expansion, and since 2023 he has headed the road transport company Girteka Group, where he launched a strategic realignment process. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
At the same time, the leadership of the Supervisory Board is also changing. As of October, Marcus Vitt will assume the chairmanship, succeeding Rüdiger Grube. Vitt is Managing Partner of Vitt4FUTURE GmbH and previously held senior positions at Hamburg-based private bank DONNER & REUSCHEL AG. Since 2022 he has also been Chairman of the Board of the Hamburg Stock Exchange.
