TRIESTE – Fincantieri has secured a new order from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings for the construction of three next-generation cruise ships. The units will be built at the group’s Italian shipyards, with deliveries scheduled between 2036 and 2037. The value of the agreement—subject to financing and the usual contractual conditions—was not disclosed, but falls within the group’s largest order category, above €2 billion.

The ships will be allocated to the US group’s three brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Each unit will be a sister ship to the most recent newbuilds already delivered by Fincantieri for the respective brands. In detail, the ship for Norwegian Cruise Line will have a gross tonnage of around 227,000 tonnes and over 5,000 berths. The unit for Regent Seven Seas Cruises will be around 77,000 gross tonnes, with approximately 822 berths, while the ship destined for Oceania Cruises will have a gross tonnage of 86,000 tonnes and a capacity of about 1,390 passengers.

According to the group, the newbuilds will integrate state-of-the-art technological and environmental solutions, in line with the evolution of the cruise segment and energy-efficiency targets. With this order, Fincantieri strengthens its long-term partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and further extends its production visibility in the cruise sector through 2037.
